ePacket now Registered International Small Packet

ePacket

Registered International Small Packet.

October 2023 Update - Registered International Small Packet or 小型包装物書留 has replaced ePacket and resumed service on October 1, 2023. It is basically the same service with a different name.

ePacket

ePacket is a new shipping method started by Japan Post on 1 April 2012.

ePacket can be used for packages up to 2,000g (EMS is 30,000g) and is trackable online and insured. ePacket is not as expensive as EMS and only slightly slower with packages from Japan to the USA, for example, taking 5 days. ePacket parcels are treated as First Class mail in the USA.

ePacket affords peace of mind for small packages and is much less fraught with risk of non-arrival or loss as normal airmail.

For light-weight goods such as kendama and gyroscopes, ePacket is ideal, and the service, which also operates in Hong Kong, is aimed at ecommerce merchants.
