Ainu Bears アイヌ

Ainu Bear
Wooden bear carved in Hokkaido

The Ainu are the indigenous people of Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan's four main islands.

To the Ainu, the bear is a sacred creature and forms the focus of many Ainu rituals.

Our hand-carved bears date from the 1970s and are a fine example of Ainu folk art.

Ainu Bears are now SOLD OUT. If you wish us to find one for you please contact us.
